What is the URL for the reproducibles for Crunchtime?  Could not find it in the book or on the Heinemann site.

Gretchen, I wanted to tell you once again how much I enjoyed seeing you at CREST. You are such a darling, precious woman... Today in Sunday school, our teacher spoke of a book called: WHEN THE GAME IS OVER, IT ALL GOES IN THE BOX. One thing he mentioned that it is rare to find anyone in our society who thinks of others instead of always thinking of themselves. I thought of YOU... You encourage others and celebrate ideas that others dream up without thinking of how it will benefit YOU.... As you just commented on Corbett's note, you always speak of "parallelisms" rather than competitions... Bravo to YOU.... And I am honored to call you my friend! Blessings on your week!!! Love, Kaye

Hi Corbett,
Very exciting stuff! I'd love to hear what happens next with your Nevada Sparklers, and to exchange ideas. I was in Las Vegas, presenting on behalf of National Geographic School Publications to the Nevada Assn of School Administrators, and I showed them the Writingfix web site. I showed them our Sparklers and that there were Nevada teachers doing the same thing (bravo!) and I encouraged them to have teachers send in papers. You and I have been working in parallel universes, and so it's great to actually cross paths. I love that writingfix site.

Hi Gretchen...big fan here...inspired by Sparklers and our own Nevada system of preparing for the state exam with practice prompts, we hosted a "Nevada Sparklers" contest, and the response from our teachers was unbelievable...

Just ordered CrunchTime. Looking forward to reading it. Wanted to tell you that you've been a tremendous resource for me these past few weeks. Been working with a few high schools to help grow their persuasive writing. Loving Dogberry Logic, Jerk Talk, and Tevye's Debate! Getting awesome feedback. They love the novelty, simplicity and fun (me too)!

Much gratitude.

Right now, I am preparing my 7th graders for the Reading TAKS. We have covered almost every literary term, its meaning, and usage. I am also taking my students to the computer lab for online TAKS practice at the end of this week.

Before the Writing TAKS, I focused heavy on the grammar and was able to incorporate some of the 'Schoolhouse Rock' jingles. The kids loved them and can still recite them.

I need to send you a letter about my benchmark scores. As a first year teacher after implementing tools gained from your workshop I had a 93% PASS rate in January for writing. My reading scores revealed an 81% Pass rate and we were not focused on the reading at that time.

Gretchen,

I actually have had some success with your "Chicken Dance" too! When I get back to work (still on vacation), I'll look & see if I can share some photos of the kids using this to understand dialogue. The tactile link is sooo powerful!
