Common Core Standards Released to Public

The Common Core State Standards movement is a joint initiative by the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices (NGA Center) and the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) in partnership with Achieve, ACT and the College Board. Governors and state commissioners from all 50 states have joined together for a state-led process to develop a common core of state standards in English-language arts and mathematics for grades K-12.

Teachers, Masters of the Universe

Some of my favorite memories as a child were playing games with my family.



Saturday night in the summertime was the best. Dad would break out the snacks and Grandma and Grandpa would come over and play Scrabble, Boggle, or cards (Pinochle, Euchre, or Uno). I vividly remember playing games for hours on end because I often missed my favorite show line-ups of the evening: Love Boat, Fantasy Island, and The Twilight Zone.

Awesome! We held our first "Core Group" Meeting this afternoon. In attendance were: Four parents- three moms and one dad;Staff members, Mrs. Quinn, and Mrs. Armstrong, First Grade;Mrs. Culver, Second Grade; Mrs. Rhodes,Kindergarten,; Mrs. DAngelo and Mrs. Milligan, Preschool; the Principal, Bernardine Carroll. We met from 4:30 until 6:00pm. We shared the core values around which the school design process will operate. We are READY TO GO!!!!!!!
