Hello All ,

I am a teacher development specialist who goes in the classrooms daily to help teachers with all content areas , especially those who work with ELL students here in Houston . I am thankful to find such a group as yourselves from which to learn and share ideas with .

The different expository/explanatory structures are fun to play with including the shopping list and favorite activity.  They give the students the structure to create and organize their ideas.  Adding info shots or analogies is so much fun as well.

My ELL students are in a dual language program.  Learning to write compositions in Spanish has been easier this year.  We're using the BA-DA-BING sentence and incorporating "dialogue" has improved our narrative writing and made them more interesting.  Expository writing is still a challenge.  Has anybody used anything that has worked?
