Love the message, Amber. Passion rocks in education. I would like to know more about how a student changes his attitude over time. That would be a great blog too. People writing about student metamorphosis.

Maybe you want to write about the student in this piece someday.

Amber, your writing has inspired me to create a list in my writer's notebook of what is right in my world. This was just the positive energy I needed this morning.

I especially love this line toward the end: "Passion will lead you to meaningful work." This has certainly been the case in my life's work, even in places I least expected. I still hope to hear how this theme has worked in your life and shaped you since you discovered it.

This is my first reply here. I appreciate your ideas and your thoughts. I particularly liked the comment that "passion will lead you to meaningful work." While I've not articulated this thought in this manner myself, I try everyday to bring out the passion in my kids. Whether it's in my class or another subject is irrelevant. They just need to find something that they care about.
