Copyright Issue

My sisters want to publish my blogs, in book form. Many of these blogs contain lyrics, say, of Michael Jackson's hits accompanied by a short essay (sort of introductory to the song). What is the possibility of interested parties running after us? Kindly help before my sisters finally get themselves into publishing these blogs. Thanks.

I'd say very little chance of anyone coming after you on unless it starts selling millions of copies. You could buy permissions at that point. As a courtesy I would make sure to list the sources on the copyright page of the book. This way you are showing your good faith and that you are not somehow plagiarizing. I am not a lawyer and I am sure a lawyer would say my advice was sub standard so don't sue me if they come after you. This is just an opinion.
